‘Maya The Bee’ prodco DeAPlaneta hires Atlantyca exec to lead sales in Italy

Maya The Bee producer DeAPlaneta Entertainment has hired former Atlantyca exec Alessandra Dematteis as its head of media sales for the company’s kids & family division in Italy.

Dematteis, who will also oversee operations in Greece, Turkey and Asia for DeAPlaneta, worked on shows including Geronimo Stilton, Bat Pat and Berry Bees during her time at Atlantyca.

Carlos Biern, distribution & content director at DeAPlaneta Kids & Family, described Dematteis as an “extremely talented leader” whose “long expertise over animated and family content in Italy and overseas will be of invaluable help in consolidating DeAPlaneta Kids & Family’s position.”

Dematteis added: “I hope to bring my expertise to identify content opportunities while we further expand hit brands such as Milo and upcoming Monster Shaker and Magic Lilly.”

DeAPlaneta is part of Grupo Planeta and De Agostini, working on shows such as drama Doctor García’s Patients and numerous kids shows ranging from Miraculous Ladybug to Gormiti and Heidi.
