RTVE’s La1 cooks up ‘Celebrity Bake Off’ as Prime Video run ends

Spanish broadcaster RTVE is preparing to launch a new version of Celebrity Bake Off, following its cancellation by Prime Video in the country.

The Love Productions format is sold by BBC Studios and is being produced in Spain by Boxfish, which was also behind the Prime Video show. The series tracks celebrities as they attempt to wow judges with their baking skills.

It will air on RTVE’s channel La 1 and comes two years after Prime Video initally snagged rights to the format in Spain, ordering a first season that debuted last year.

A second season had reportedly been in development but has now been scrapped by the retail giant.

The original Bake Off format has aired on Cuatro and Telecinco for more than a decade, with the celebrity version now joining fellow global culinary format MasterChef on La 1.
