ProSiebenSat.1 restructures with veteran channel chief Daniel Rosemann departing
ProSiebenSat.1 has restructured its management team with chief Bert Habets now becoming CEO of Seven. One Entertainment and Sat.1 veteran Daniel Rosemann departing.
The core unit’s three-member management team also includes chief content officer Henrik Pabst, who had until recently been MD at Seven. One, and Stefan Endriß, chief financial officer.
The new-look structure will see Habets’ extended Seven. One remit include responsibility for sales, platforms and growth, marketing and the Austrian business with ProSiebenSat.1 Puls 4.
Pabst is responsible for the entire content portfolio across all channels and platforms, as well as the Swiss entertainment business.
ProSiebenSat.1 said that the shift would drive its cross-platform and channel strategy, something Habet and Pabst discussed earlier this week, while also driving collaboration between brands.
As the third MD and CFO, Endriß will continue to be responsible for all financial and controlling areas of the Seven. One and its subsidiaries.

Other changes see Katharina Frömsdorf named chief platforms and growth officer, with a remit across all digital platforms including Joyn, the channel websites, distribution, Studio71 and Seven. One Audio.
The aim is to ensure Joyn’s increasing integration across the German operator’s entertainment business, with Frömsdorf also serving as chair of the Joyn management board. The new structure will take effect on 1 November.
Rosemann, meanwhile, is to leave the company following a 15-year stint, most recently leading channel duo Sat.1 and ProSieben.
During his tenure, he brought formats including The Masked Singer, The 1% Club, Uncovered and The Voice into Germany.
Rosemann will depart at the end of 2023 to work on new but as-yet unspecified projects.
Marc Rasmus, previously channel manager of Kabel Eins, will take on the Rosemann’s remit at Sat.1, while his deputy Felix von Mengden will take over Kabel Eins.
Hannes Hiller, SVP of content development at ProSieben and Sat.1, will be the new channel manager of ProSieben.
Ellen Koch, channel manager of sixx, will be responsible for the channels sixx and Sat.1 Gold, which target female audiences, and ProSieben Maxx and Kabel Eins Doku, which target male audiences.
Habets said: “Over the past 12 months, I’ve come to known Daniel Rosemann as an exceptional TV professional with a sharp instinct and a great passion for making programs.
“As channel manager of ProSieben and Sat.1, he has repositioned both stations in recent years and brought strong artists to us. I would like to thank him for our very good collaboration and wish him all the best for his personal future.”
Pabst added: “I would like to thank Daniel for the many years of excellent collaboration and the many fantastic projects we have managed together.
“At the same time, it is a logical step to combine the key areas of content and reach under one roof. I am absolutely convinced that this closer integration will help us to drive forward the digital transformation of our business. The perfect cooperation between our channels and Joyn will be central to achieving significant growth.”
Rosemann said: “Leaving ProSieben and Sat.1 after 15 very intense years is definitely the biggest and hardest decision I’ve made in my life so far. However, now is the right time for me. I’m leaving with great gratitude for everything I was able to create with my teams over the past years.”
ProSiebenSat.1 has been battling an ailing German advertising market for the past two years, prompting lay-offs and a refocusing on its digital strategy centered around the recently acquired streamer Joyn from Warner Bros. Discovery.
