WBD International TV Distribution rejigs team under David Decker

David Decker

Warner Bros. Discovery International TV Distribution has rejigged its leadership structure, with David Decker, president of content sales, to take on an expanded role post MIPCOM.

Phil Goodhew, SVP of commercial strategy, International TV Distribution and Allan Stenhouse, SVP international TV marketing, will now report to Decker, who will, alongside his domestic remit, oversee global content licensing opportunities to major platforms, such as Netflix, Amazon, Roku and Paramount, who operate worldwide.

The changes come following the announcement in July that Robert Blair, president of WBD International TV Distribution, would be departing the company.

In a memo to staff, seen by TBI, Gerhard Zeiler, WBD’s president of international, said that Goodhew and Stenhouse will work closely with the international leadership and local licensing teams, from a commercial strategy and marketing perspective, to ensure a “smooth operating rhythm and information flow” across all the sales teams.

Alastair McKenzie SVP of international legal and legal team will continue to support the international sales teams driving deals, with McKenzie continuing to report into Alessandra Chichi, group SVP, international legal.

Zeiler said that he has asked Louis Goldstein, SVP of international business operations to partner with Decker “to provide a central co-ordination role across international content sales in a similar manner that Louis and his team support coordination efforts with our US domestic counterparts for the international home entertainment business.”

In his memo, Zeiler added: “I again want to acknowledge the contributions of Robert Blair, for whom I have the highest regard.  Some of us who will be at MIPCOM will be able to send him off in style, with many of you who have worked with him for so many years.”

Earlier this month, Zeiler unveiled the new structure of the wider WBD international team, following the departures of former EMEA chief Priya Dogra and other senior execs.

Among the move was James Gibbons taking on an expanded remit that includes Asia Pacific, INSEAK (India, Southeast Asia & Korea) and Western Pacific, which is being united into a single APAC region.
