OneGate Media recruits Sky Deutschland exec to head co-pros & acquisitions

German distributor OneGate Media has appointed Sky Deutschland’s Johannes Plenk as director of acquisitions and co-productions.

He will oversee the strategic planning and implementation of programme acquisition at the firm, which is part of the Studio Hamburg Group and the ARD network and distributes titles including Lost In Fuseta and Justice For All.

Plenk will also be responsible for acquiring films and series from German producers and distributors, as well as from international partners. He will further expand the company’s contacts with programme suppliers among German producers and public broadcasters.

He joins OneGate from Sky Deutschland where he served as director of entertainment channels and previously held roles at Bavaria Film, CNN and Universal Studios.
