French production firm Federation has backed a recently launched venture from The Bureau creator Eric Rochant, which has its first project launching on Disney+ next month.

Maui Entertainment was soft launched last year and is focused on engaging and supporting talent and showrunners to create “international series”, using Rochant and Federation’s expertise.

It is behind Tout Va Bien (Everything Is Fine), which has been created by Camille de Castelnau and which will launch on Disney+ on 15 November.

The eight-parter stars Virginie Efira and Sara Giraudeau, with Rochant directing alongside Xavier Legrand, Cathy Verney and Audrey Estrougo. A second season screenplay is in the works.

Maui is also in production on an untitled spy series and in development on Someone Should Ban Sunday Afternoons, a modern-day French series set in Paris that has been created by Isabel Coixet for Arte.

The prodco marks a strengthening of ties between Rochant and Federation, which coproduced The Bureau.

Rochant said: “Establishing Maui Entertainment with Pascal Breton marked the start of a new adventure where I can share my expertise with writers to help them on their journey to become great showrunners, whilst nurturing their creativity.

“For me, this next phase is also about exploring a broad range of even more ambitious projects beyond The Bureau.”

Pascal Breton, president at Federation Studios, added: “Our association also creates a strong basis for Eric to continue producing several series and films, whilst preparing his next ambitious international spy series, and other genres.”
