UK & South Africa grow ‘Hungry For Love’

Objective and All3Media subsidiary Betty TV has optioned the rights to dating format Hungry For Love for the UK, while afrOkaans Film and Television has grabbed them for the South African market.

The format, created by Zipi Rozenblum, is co-owned by Sipur and Stampede Ventures and distributed by Mediawan Rights.

Hungry For Love centers around a group of singles with only one rule to follow: Contestants must date in order to eat. No date, no food. These singles, guided by a professional therapist, will participate in the experiment and dine their way to love.

“Betty TV in the UK and afrOkaans in South Africa have unparalleled track records selling quality unscripted productions into their respective markets,” said Rozenblum. “They make the perfect partners for this unique reality series that connects two of the greatest passions – food and love – into a unique psychological experiment.”

Rabbit to shop Monday content

Rabbit International, the distribution arm of Finnish independent production company Rabbit Films, has been named as the distributor of all content originating from its parent company Monday Media Group.

The Rabbit International team is set to distribute all formats and finished tape that have been originated in the 13 Monday-affiliated production companies, spanning across the Nordics and Benelux.

Martin Dalgaard, CEO of the Monday Media Group, commented: “When we bought Rabbit Films earlier this year, one of the major drivers for us was the access to the existing distribution set-up. The Rabbit International team has done a spectacular job in turning such self-developed local formats as Over the Atlantic and Ultimate Escape into worldwide success stories.

“We have the highest confidence in the team in promoting all of the fantastic content that is originated within the Monday Media Group. This is a natural step in our vision to strengthen the group even further.”
