Mrs Sidhu Investigates

BBC Studios and its broadcast group UKTV have jointly acquired the UK and Benelux rights to a slew of AMC Networks shows for FTA channels Drama and Alibi and streamer UKTV Play, and BBC First in Benelux.

Comedy-drama Mrs Sidhu Investigates (4 x 90-minutes) and season 1 of detective series Signora Volpe (6 x 90-minutes) will launch on Drama and UKTV Play this autumn, while season 1 of Darby And Joan (8 x 60-minutes) and seasons 1-2 of Whitstable Pearl (12 x 60-minutes) will land in early 2024.

Psychological thriller Dark Winds (6 x 60-minutes) will debut on Alibi in October, with Irish dramedy The South Westerlies (8 x 60-minutes) coming to UKTV Play in the same month.

Seasons 1-2 of The Madame Blanc Mysteries (13 x 60-minutes), season 3 of London Kills (10 x 60-minutes) and season 2 of Queens Of Mysteries (6 x 45-minutes) have also been acquired for BBC First in Benelux, a British drama channel, curated locally for Dutch and Belgian audiences.

This deal is the first between UKTV and AMC Networks and was secured by Jimmy Rumble, global acquisitions manager at BBC Studios and UKTV.

The BBC has been a longstanding valued partner of ours and we are excited by this new chapter in our relationship,” said Mike Pears, EVP of distribution and content sales for AMC Networks.

“Both in the US and around the world, we want to make our shows available on a wide variety of platforms, to find new viewers and build awareness of the high-quality content that continues to define our company.”
