CBS drafts ‘NCIS Sydney’ to plug scheduling gap amid impact of US strikes
CBS has lined up NCIS Sydney to plug one of its primetime gaps, as the ongoing US writers strike hampers scheduling for the broadcast network.
NCIS Sydney was ordered by Paramount+ in Australia last year and is set to make its global debut on the streamer in Oz on 10 November, with the show airing on CBS in the US on Monday, 13 November.
It will then air at a date to be confirmed on Paramount’s Network Ten in Oz, as well as being rolled out on streamer Paramount+ internationally. Banijay’s Endemol Shine Australia produces, with Paramount Global selling outside of Oz.
The show, which is the first international spin-off from the long-running NCIS franchise, will run weekly in the US at 22.00 and is preceded by reruns from the original NCIS.
CBS has already imported the UK version of Ghosts to bolster its schedule as the US strikes hamper programme delivery, with the original version of the show slotted into a Thursday slot following the US remake.
Yellowstone has also been brought across from Paramount Network, while Paramount+ drama SEAL Team is another to have been drafted in to fill gaps.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said: “With the addition of NCIS: Sydney, our studio and Network footprint continues to grow in this fascinating world that has been a proven winner with viewers on both linear and streaming platforms.
