ITVX takes Australian comedy ‘Fisk’ to UK following ABC Commercial deal
Australian hit comedy Fisk is heading to the UK following a deal with streamer ITVX.
The show, sold by ABC Commercial, is already into its second season down under and takes an affectionate look at life in a small suburban law firm specialising in wills and estates.
It stars co-creator, co-writer and co-director Kitty Flanagan, as well as fellow comedians Julia Zemiro, Marty Sheargold and Aaron Chen.
The comedy’s first season took home TBI’s Content Innovation Award in 2021 for Series Launch of the Year, while also winning the Best Series (Comedies) at Series Mania in France.
Flanagan said: “I grew up watching British comedies, I lived in London and worked on the incomparable UK comedy circuit for eight years alongside many of the current stars of UK comedy, watching and learning from the best, so hopefully I have a good understanding of the UK audience.
“And with Fisk, I feel like we’ve made a show that will really appeal to that audience; it’s understated, ticks along fast, the characters are realistic and relatable and most importantly, it will make you laugh.”
Fisk, which debuts on ITVX tomorrow, is available in neutral Spanish and French, with ABC Commercial holding worldwide distribution rights.
