BBC Studios hires Raise The Roof exec Sandy Robertson as head of fact ent production
BBC Studios (BBCS) has hired Raise The Roof exec Sandy Robertson as its first head of production for the company’s Glasgow-based factual entertainment division.
Robertson will work alongside creative director Adeline Ramage Rooney and is responsible for leading production teams across all fact ent programming, while also being tasked with helping to grow BBCS’s Glasgow base and its production management leadership team.
BBCS’s Glasgow division is behind shows including Dragons’ Den, Amazing Hotels and Lost Dogs Live, as well as The One Show, Countryfile and DIY SOS.
Roberton, who will be based in BBCS’s Pacific Quay office in Glasgow when she starts on 24 July, joins from UK prodco Raise The Roof, where she oversaw the development and delivery of Holiday Homes In The Sun, Kirstie & Phil’s Love It Or List It and Escape To The Farm With Kate Humble.
Rooney said Robertson would “bring a powerful combination of experience, strategic thinking and bold ambition, so I’m hugely excited at the thought of what we can build together.”
Katie Brewer-Frankl, director of production for factual entertainment & events, added: “As we move into an ambitious period of growth for fact ent in our Glasgow base, it’s absolutely crucial we have a production management leader to match. Sandy is an exceptional and well respected head of production, and we couldn’t be more thrilled she is joining us later this summer.”
