Vox orders German version of relationship format ‘Save The Date’
German FTA channel Vox has ordered a local adaptation of Banijay relationship format Save The Date.
EndemolShine Germany, part of Banijay Germany, will produce the series, which is the the third iteration of the format, following a launch by Shine Iberia on TVI in Portugal earlier this month. The format was originally created by Endemol Shine Israel and first produced by Endemol Shine Finland for Nelonen.
Save The Date is a social experiment in which singles, tired of the dating world, gain total control of their love lives by setting a wedding date, before they have even begun dating a partner. Each single has a short time to find their perfect match and plan the wedding. How they embark on the mission is up to them; will they choose frantic speed dating, or invest their precious time in one suitor?
EndemolShine Germany is behind titles including Big Brother VIP, Kitchen Impossible, Limitless Win, as well as The Masked Singer Germany, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Germany.
The company’s managing director, Fabian Tobias, said: “Save The Date perfectly meets the German audiences desire for relationship shows. It is full of heart, and extremely relevant for current audiences, as there is a lot of pressure to find ‘the one’ and online dating has changed the landscape for ever.”
