Cineflix Studios & ‘Reginald The Vampire’ firm December Films strike first-look pact
Cineflix Studios has struck a first-look deal with Canada’s December Films (Reginald The Vampire), following the prodco’s upcoming 10-part series Carpe Demon for Paramount+.
The deal builds on the existing co-production relationship between Cineflix Studios and December Films on Reginald The Vampire, which is in its second season for Syfy, Hulu and CTV Sci-Fi.
The pact gives Cineflix Studios the first option to co-produce original content developed by December, with Cineflix Rights having first-look international distribution rights to content co-produced through the partnership.
Carpe Demon, which was unveiled yesterday by Paramount+, is based on the novels by Julie Kenner about a frazzled suburban Mum who must return to being a demon hunter when her supernatural past comes calling.
December Films was formed by Julie DiCresce and Todd Berger in 2020, operating out of Toronto, Vancouver and Venice Beach.
Cineflix has been expanding its creative partnerships and joint ventures in North America and Europe, with existing pacts struck with Toronto-based Husk Media, BentFrame Film and TV, Montreal-based Connect3 Media, and London and Glasgow-based Buccaneer.
