Skai TV brings ITV Studios’ ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ format to Greece
Skai TV in Greece has commissioned the first local adaptation of ITV Studios format I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! for broadcast in the fall.
The order makes this the 17th territory to adapt the format, with the Greek version to be produced by Acun Medya, and filmed in the Dominican Republic.
The deal follows Skai TV’s order for another popular ITV Studios format, Love Island, in August.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, which is created and distributed internationally by ITV Studios, places a cast of celebrities in the heart of a remote jungle. The stars compete for food in terrifying tasks and disgusting challenges – and if they fail, they go hungry.
Last week, TVA in French Canada finished its first season of the format, garnering an average of 1.6 million viewers and a 48.1% audience share. The format has also established itself as the leading reality format in Germany with the 16th series consolidating to an average of 4.1 million viewers and an average share of 21.6%.
In the UK, the recently-aired All Star edition attracted an average of 5.1 million viewers, an increase of more than 2 million viewers compared to ITV1’s slot average.
Ruth Berry, MD of global partnerships at ITV Studios, said: “We are thrilled to see the remarkable success of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! globally. The format’s ability to engage viewers across multiple platforms and consistently deliver high ratings shows its enduring appeal and entertainment value.”
