NATPE Global names Miami dates & location as Brunico event returns for 2024
NATPE Global will return to Miami in 2024 under the stewardship of new owners Brunico, which has confirmed that the event will take place 16-18 January at the downtown InterContinental Hotel.
The event, which runs a week before Content Americas on 23-25 January, aims to create a “networking-first” environment that will connect buyers and sellers of projects in development, as well as those with catalogue programming.
Brunico acquired NATPE Global (fka NATPE Miami) in January after the National Association of Television Programming Executives (NATPE) filed for bankruptcy.
As part of the deal, the Realscreen and Banff World Media Festival organisers took control of NATPE Budapest, NATPE Streaming+ and the Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards, as well as the Miami-based event that was previously held at the Fontainbleau Hotel on Miami Beach.
NATPE Global was not held in 2023 after plans by the former owners to launch a Bahamas-based market were cancelled, but several events were launched to fill the gap in the schedule, including Content Americas. It is being held at the Hilton Miami Downtown.
Russell Goldstein, president & CEO at Brunico Communications, said NATPE Global would “bring the entire media ecosystem together under one umbrella to do business in the world’s most valuable market for content.”
He added: “The entertainment industry is exploding with change, creating new distribution opportunities and innovative ways to monetise content. At the same time, securing early access to new hit programming has never been more competitive or crucial.
“Fresh off the heels of the successful reintroduction of the NATPE Budapest market, we look forward to welcoming our clients back to our flagship marketplace and the most storied content event on the industry calendar.”
