Arte France names content directors as drama head Olivier Wotling joins Mintee Studio

French-German broadcaster Arte has appointed Mathilde Michel and Agnès Olier as directors of the arts & entertainment and fiction units of Arte France, respectively, following the exit of drama head Olivier Wotling.

Wotling has been recruited as a producer by Asacha Media-owned production company Mintee Studio, which he will join on 1 July.

He joined Arte as head of drama in 2015, and oversaw the production of titles including En thérapie, Il Miracolo, Le Monde de demain, Les Papillons noirs and Esterno Notte.  He also supervised the deployment of Arte’s drama offer on the network’s web platform arte.tv.

Wotling is being succeeded at Arte by Agnès Olier, who will join Arte France on 1 June and work alongside Alexandre Piel, who has been deputy director of the unit since 2013.

Olier has served as a member of the Arte Fiction Editorial Committee since 2017. She has worked as a composer of film music, working on titles including The Lady In The Car With Glasses And A Gun and Low Mass. She was also producer and host of a France Inter cultural show and a columnist for France Culture.

Meanwhile, Mathilde Michel joins Arte France as director of the arts & Entertainment in July, currently serving as the director of the Philharmonie des enfants at the Philharmonie de Paris, which she joined in 2018.

Prior to that, she spent seven years spent with Bossard-Gemini Consulting in media strategy served as as head of program costs and institutional relations for France 2. She then moved to France Télévisions as secretary general of programs, where she set up the live digital offer of Culturebox concerts and shows, in 2013.

Mintee Studio was founded in 2017 by Gaspard de Chavagnac, Floriane Cortes, and Jacques Salles and joined Asacha Media Group in April 2020.
