Envision hires ‘Gomorrah’ writers to adapt David Szalay’s ‘Turbulence’
UK-based Envision Entertainment has hired Gomorrah and ZeroZeroZero writers Leonardo Fasoli and Maddelana Ravagli to adapt the David Szalay novel Turbulence.
The novel comprises interconnected short stories which follow twelve international protagonists as they fly from country to country, experiencing not only real turbulence, but the emotional turmoil and chaos of life: bereavement, sickness, divorce, violence and loneliness.
Starting and ending in London, each episode of Envision’s adaptation of Turbulence will centre on interlinking characters, as they embark on a globetrotting journey taking in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Michael Nakan, Envision’s founder and CEO said: “Envision is dedicated to bringing the world together with bold, best-in-class storytelling. We see Turbulence as a once in a lifetime prestige project which can introduce the best local talent to truly global audiences, an astonishing accomplishment in the era of streaming.”
