October Films recruits Pulse’s Mohammed Adnan to head US development
UK-US producer October Films has appointed Mohammed Adnan as head of development, US, as the company looks to expand its North America operations.
Based in New York, Adnan joins the company from Pulse Films, where he served as global head of development and oversaw the company’s non-fiction arm in the US, UK and Europe. His credits include Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts for HBO Max, Inside Missguided and Hair Power: Me and My Afro for Channel 4 and the upcoming three-part series Max Verstappen – Anatomy Of A Champion for Viaplay.
October, which is behind shows such as Colosseum for History, Viagra: The (Little Blue) Pill That Changed The World for Discovery+ and Beanie Mania for HBO Max, recently opened an LA office alongside its New York base as it seeks to grow its relationships with buyers and creative partners in the US.
Recent US projects include a co-production partnership with Octavia Spencer’s ORIT Entertainment on two true crime series, Highway 20 (working title) and FEDS (working title) for Warner Bros Discovery.
