Warner Bros. Discovery hires Harry Gamsu from Fremantle

Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) has re-hired Fremantle exec Harry Gamsu.

Gamsu was most recently VP of non-scripted at Fremantle and becomes VP of creative, format, development & sales at Warner Bros International Television Production (WBITVP).

He remains based out of LA and reports into SVP, of format development & sales, Andy ZeinAndy Zein.

He takes the role of Adam Steinman and will oversee all adaptation, development and sales of programming based on formats and original concepts from WBITVP and third-party producers.

Gamsu had been with Fremantle for the past four years and was based out of LA, reporting into SVP of non-scripted, Angela Neillis.

He oversaw the US-based content acquisitions team for Fremantle’s global sales arm from LA and was responsible for picking up content from North America for development and international distribution, working on shows such as The Curse Of Von Dutch.

Gamsu had been VP of non-scripted with Red Arrow Studios International (RASI) prior to Fremantle and before that was acquisitions manager with Warner Bros. International Television Production UK.

Steinman, meanwhile, first joined WBITVP in 2010. He was initially appointed VP of non-scripted for international development & sales, before being upped to his most recent role in 2016, when scripted formats were added to his remit.

He had worked on the international roll-out of formats including Impractical Jokers, The Bachelor and Bachelorette, as well as Who Do You Think You Are? and First Dates.
