US cablenet TBS preps ‘I Survived Bear Grylls’ from Bunim Murray

US cablenet TBS is preparing to debut new competition series I Survived Bear Grylls, which follows the adventurer as he guides contestants through a series of challenges.

The show, which bridges survival and gameshow genres, is from Banijay’s Bunim/Murray Productions, Kreativ Inc. and The Natural Studios.

It features eight stand-alone episodes, each with a new set of players who face specially designed games that test their smarts, physicality and ability to adapt.

Each must do whatever it takes to survive, including having to eat and drink some “truly gnarly” survival foods to win a cash prize.

Comedian Jordan Conley hosts with Grylls. The show debuts Thursday, 18 May at 21.00 ET/PT.
