Netflix expands live TV offering & orders Canadian thriller
Netflix is expanding its live TV experiment with a special reunion episode of Love Is Blind and has unveiled another commission from its Canadian division.
Love Is Blind: The Live Reunion will stream on Sunday, 16 April at 20.00 ET, with viewers able to click a ‘Watch Live’ button ten minutes before.
The show is being produced by Embassy Row and will feature couples and singletons discussing the season’s action. Kinetic Content produces the original series.
The reunion special will be the second live-event production for Netflix, which debuted Chris Rock: Selective Outrage on 4 March.
Netflix has also expanded its Canadian originals slate, with eight-part Tall Pines from comedian Mae Martin.
The thriller is from Sphere Media and is being exec produced by Objective Fiction duo Ben Farrell and Hannah Mackay.
The story is set in a sinister town and explores the challenges faced by multiple generations.
Netflix last week linked with the CBC and APTN in Canada for its first scripted original, a comedy from Inuit writer-producer Stacey Aglok MacDonald and filmmaker Alethea Arnaquq-Baril.
