Netflix, ITV & Amazon Prime Video prep Gary Glitter documentaries
Netflix, ITV and Amazon Prime Video are all preparing projects focused on former pop star Gary Glitter, who has been convicted for a variety of child sex offences over the past two decades.
Hunting Gary Glitter (working title) tracks the detectives who brought the pop star (whose real name is Paul Gadd) to justice, following his first conviction for downloading child pornography in 1999.
It is being produced for Netflix by Voltage TV, which was acquired by BBC Studios late last year, having been founded by Steve Nam and Sanjay Singhal.
The three-parter will explore how journalists and then detectives tracked Glitter down in Southeast Asia.
ITV and Prime Video also have shows in the works, according to The Times, although details are yet to be confirmed. Glitter was released from prison earlier this year.
