MHZ in US & UK’s Walter Presents among new deals for Belgian drama ‘Pandore’
SBS in Australia, Walter Presents in the UK & Ireland, MHZ in the US and Canada and Telus Presents in Canada have all acquired season one of Belgian political drama Pandore.
Originally produced by Artemis Productions for RTBF, and co-directed and co-written by Savina Dellicour, Anne Coesens and Vania Leturcq, the 10 x 52-minute French-language political thriller tells the story of the conflictual relationship between a politician and an investigating judge.
While the Belgian conservative party’s campaign is disrupted by a corruption investigation, the rape of a young woman brings together four very different characters: an investigating judge, a politician, an activist and a journalist.
APC handles worldwide distribution rights for the series, which was renewed for a second season by RTBF last year, which is currently in development and set to air in 2024.
Previous sales for the series include AMC Networks International Southern Europe for Spain and Portugal, RTP2 in Portugal, NPO in the Netherlands, Yle in Finland, Stod 2 in Iceland, TV5 in Canada and Viaplay in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Laurent Boissel and Emmanuelle Guilbart, joint-CEOs and co-founders at APC, said: “We are continuing to secure robust broadcast partners around the globe for this original, gripping political thriller, full of twists and turns, which resonates so much with today’s world.”
