Love & Death

Newly launched streamer ITVX has acquired HBO Max original Love & Death for its exclusive UK debut.

Coming to the service this autumn, the series is inspired by the book Evidence Of Love: A True Story Of Passion And Death In The Suburbs and a collection of articles from the publication Texas Monthly.

Co-produced by Lionsgate, Love & Death focuses on two church going couples, enjoying small town family life in Texas – until somebody picks up an axe.

The cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Pelphrey, Krysten Ritter and Keir Gilchrist.

David E Kelley is writing the series and executive producing through David E Kelley Productions, alongside Nicole Kidman and Per Saari through Blossom Films; Lesli Linka Glatter (who directs the first four and final episodes); Scott Brown and Megan Creydt through Texas Monthly; Matthew Tinker; Michael Klick and Helen Verno.

Alison Morris, SVP of television, digital & affiliate distribution at Warner Bros. Discovery, said: “David and Lesli have done a brilliant job of finding the humanity in this most extraordinary set of events, helped by stellar performances from an amazing cast.”

Last month, UK broadcaster ITV reported a 55% increase in streaming hours since the launch of ITVX on 8 December. According to ITV, the biggest draws included the latter stages of the FIFA World Cup and original scripted content such as true crime drama Litvinenko and miniseries The Reunion.
