France Télévisions has ordered a daily and primetime version of Talpa quiz show, The Floor.
The format, which debuted last year on RTL4 in the Netherlands, will be produced in France by Satisfaction Group and is set to premiere in July.
The Floor sees 100 quiz fanatics face off in quiz duels on a giant LED floor divided into one hundred equal squares, each representing its own field of knowledge. The goal is to conquer the entire floor and take home a huge cash prize.
The show was created by John de Mol’s Talpa Concepts and is sold by Talpa Distribution, with Eureka Productions taking it into the US last year.
Sebastian van Barneveld, Talpa’s director of international distribution, said the format “ticks all the boxes – it’s fun to watch, very scalable, and visually attractive with an iconic set.”
