News round-up: Belgium expands ‘Finder$ Keeper$’; Paramount+ lands Lollapalooza doc; Freevee preps ‘Neighbours’ for FAST

Finder$ Keeper$

‘Finder$ Keeper$’ picked up in French-speaking Belgium

RTL-TVI has ordered a local version of family entertainment format Finder$ Keeper$ for French-speaking Belgium.

On each episode, a fortunate family gets the chance to win up to €100,000. The cash is hidden in their own home, where all the money they find within 30 minutes is theirs to keep. Although it sounds simple, the creativity of the team of ‘hiders’ knows no limits.

The order for the Be-Entertainment distributed show follows an earlier commission by RTL2 in Germany, as well as the first full season which is in production in Belgium for VTM.

Be-Entertainment MD Gepke Nederlof said: “Great to see this simple and entertaining format thriving in yet another country and looking forward to working on a successful series together with RTL TVI so close to home”

Paramount+ orders Lollapalooza doc

Paramount+ has commissioned Lolla: The Story Of Lollapalooza, a new music docuseries about the festival.

Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and FunMeter, in partnership with C3 Presents, the three-part series, directed by Michael John Warren, will chronicle the symbiotic 30+ year relationship between the festival and its founder, music legend Perry Farrell.

The series is executive produced by Bruce Gillmer and Amanda Culkowski for MTV Entertainment Studios and James Lee Hernandez and Brian Lazarte for FunMeter.

Michael John Warren, Mat Whittington, Daniel Gibbs and Brian Levy will also executive produce; Matt Kaye and Jordan Bogdonavage are co-executive producers.

Neighbours

Freevee adds classic ‘Neighbours’ & FAST channels

Amazon Freevee is to add a selection of popular former Neighbours episodes to the streaming service on 23 February, as well as launching dedicated FAST channels.

The drop will include the all episodes from “season 2012,” featuring the Fremantle-produced show’s  first kiss between characters Chris and Aidan, as well as Toadie’s heartwarming proposal to Sonya, and Lucas and Vanessa’s dramatic wedding day.

The library content will be available exclusively on Amazon Freevee, which saved the long-running Australian soap from cancellation in November, in the US and UK. Prime Video customers in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, and South Africa will also have access to the previous seasons and episodes.

Additionally, a selection of the most iconic episodes of Neighbours will also launch on the service, including a variety of episodes featuring actors Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Guy Pearce, Natalie Imbruglia, and Liam Hemsworth.

After the initial drop, a library season of Neighbours will launch on the service every month until the show’s revival  later this year. Starting 28 February, the streaming service will also launch a variety of Neighbours linear FAST channels.
