Saudi Arabia’s MBC & Vice Media strike pact for Arabic lifestyle shows

Saudia Arabia-based MBC Group has struck a pact with Vice Media Group that will see the youth-skewing producer creating a raft of Arabic-language programming for the company.

The new partnership will include bespoke content created exclusively for MBC across genres including food, music, fashion, the visual arts and video games.

Production will be run out of Vice’s office in Riyadh, with the deal also includiung mentorship and training opportunities for creators in the region. Vice has had offices in the Middle East since 2017.

Sam Barnett, CEO of MBC Group, said the deal would provide it with “diverse content that will complement” current offerings.

Vice Media Group’s CEO, Nancy Dubuc, added that the pact would help extend MBC’s reach “while highlighting the vibrant, emerging youth culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia…”
