Lionsgate co-pro & acquisitions boss Marc Lorber departs US studio
Marc Lorber, SVP of international TV co-productions and acquisitions at US studio Lionsgate, has exited the company after almost a decade.
Lorber, who first joined Lionsgate in 2013, had served in his latest role since 2019, in which capacity he headed up a team that looks for scripted content that can be co-developed or produced internationally. He left the company on 31 December.
Among the projects that he worked on are BBC Wales drama The Pact and Blackbox Multimedia’s supernatural crime drama Costa.
Prior to Lionsgate, he held roles including SVP and executive producer, original programming and production at HBO Central Europe and SVP at Marvista Entertainment.
Confirming his departure on social media, Lorber wrote: “To my dear friends, peers, partners and colleagues, as I seek out the next adventure in my career, I want to tell you I have enjoyed and been blessed getting to know and work with so many the world over on projects, initiatives and/or at conferences. And remain very proud of all that has been accomplished together.”
The news of Lorber’s exit comes just a day after Lionsgate announced that Starz’s president of international networks, Superna Kalle, would be exiting in March, with Darren Nielson promoted to replace her.
