Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton is moving into TV with his own production company.

Dawn Apollo Films has been set up with talent firm Copper, run by his manager Penni Thow, and projects are already in the works.

These include two previously announced shows for Apple TV+, one of which will be a feature doc that tracks the UK driver’s career as he moved from karting to become one of the sport’s most famous names.

An untitled movie is also in the works, with Joe Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) directing and Brad Pitt set to star. The story tracks a retired driver who returns to the sport to compete with a younger rival.

Hamilton told US trade Deadline, which broke the news, that the prodco would look to push “meaningful conversations and impactful storytelling.”

Formula One has enjoyed a bump in global audiences over recent years, partly driven by a series of docs on the sport including Netflix duo Drive To Survive and Schumacher.
