Amazon Studios has rejigged its development team, with Marc Resteghini set to step down.

The reshuffle under recently installed head of TV Vernon Sanders will see Resteghini’s remit as head of global development being shared between head of creative content, Nick Pepper, and head of series, Laura Lancaster.

Resteghini, who has been at Amazon since 2014 and was head of drama prior to his post recent role, had shepherded projects through development to the end of their first seasons.

He is now in the midst of striking a producing deal with Amazon Studios, according to US reports.

Resteghini’s credits during his Amazon Studios stint include The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Jack Ryan and Underground Railroad.

The rejig follows the overhaul of Amazon Studios last year, which saw Pepper, Lancaster – who joined in February 2021 – and Resteghini take on roles beneath head of TV Sanders, who was appointed in October.

That revamp was part of Amazon Studios’ leadership choosing to re-focus efforts on series, development and IP/talent management. Albert Cheng, who had held the head of TV role, shifted his focus to his operational duties as part of his COO remit.
