Acorn TV adapts BBC Radio drama, snags worldwide rights
AMC Networks-owned streamer Acorn TV has ordered an adaptation of BBC Radio 4 mystery Mrs Sidhu Investigates.
The 4 x 90-minute show is being produced by Monumental Television and Absolutely Productions, with the radio shows’s creator Suk Pannu writing the TV version.
Meera Syal (The Kumars At No 42) is also attached as writer and will star, with the drama slated to launch in 2023.
Acorn TV has taken exclusive global rights, although the streamer is not available globally.
The show tracks a recently widowed woman living in the UK country of Berkshire who solves crimes.
