Poland’s TVP2 revives ‘Don’t Forget The Lyrics’ after 10-year hiatus
Polish broadcaster TVP2 has commissioned a new series of musical game show format Don’t Forget The Lyrics, returning the show to local screens for the first time in a decade.
Endemol Shine Poland will produce this new season of the Banijay format, which had previously been made by Mastiff Poland.
Don’t Forget the Lyrics challenges contestants to try to fill in missing song lyrics for the chance to win a cash prize. From Aretha Franklin to Harry Styles, the contestants take to the stage and, accompanied by a live band, belt out the tunes. However, can they keep singing when the lyrics stop? The revived Polish version will be hosted by celebrity couple Sławomir and Kajra.
Originally created by FOX, Don’t Forget The Lyrics has been adapted in more than 30 territories. The show was recently rebooted in the US, where it is produced by Banijay’s Bunim Murray Productions and Apploff Entertainment, while Italy also brought the series back earlier this year.
Endemol Shine Poland is behind adaptations of international brands such as Big Brother, LEGO Masters, Fort Boyard and The Million Pound Drop for Polish audiences.
Ryszard Sibiliski, MD at Endemol Shine Poland said: “Don’t Forget the Lyrics is a high-stakes game show that delivers big, bold entertainment and escapism for a wide audience.
“We’re delighted to have Sławomir and Kajra on board, as they bring such a great energy to the project that audiences will love.”
