KOTV hires CBC & Radio-Canada exec for global distribution expansion
Montreal-based KOTV has appointed CBC exec Mia Desroches as its new VP of international distribution.
In this newly created role, she will be tasked with expanding the firm’s international distribution business.
Desroches joins KOTV following a four-year stint as director of content distribution partnerships at CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution. Prior to that, she spent two years as VP of distribution at Téléfiction and 12 years at the National Film Board of Canada, where she held several senior positions, including that of director of distribution.
Louis-Philippe Drolet, EVP and director general at KOTV, said that Desroches’ appointment “aligns perfectly with our continued ambitions outside of Quebec,” adding: “she possesses the experience and expertise to take on the direction of our distribution team and contribute to our global reach.”
KOTV is behind formats including the anthology drama series Plan B, which was adapted and broadcast by TF1 in France last year, as well as into Flemish Belgium.
Further adapatations of its formats include a Lebansese version of variety show Le Verdict, a Latvian version of it musical variety show, C’est ma toune, and Pillow Talk, the English language adaptation of the Entre deux draps series, which was broadcast on Crave in February 2022.
