Series Mania organisers launch Digital Forum
Organisers of the recently cancelled French drama festival Series Mania have launched a new online event.
Series Mania Digital Forum will be an online platform offering video pitches of the 16 selected projects in the co-pro pitching sessions, along with selected events from the UGC Writers Campus Pitching sessions and video pitches from the Franco-Israeli residency.
The forum will run online from 25 March to 7 April and also provide access to the ‘Coming Next From’ sessions as well as curated series from its buyers showcase.
Access is via seriesmaniadigital.com and will cost €90 ($100).
The Lille-based event was cancelled last week as the impact of Coronavirus spread across France. It normally attracts thousands working in the global drama business and had been due to start 20 March, while the Forum strand of the event had been slated for 25-27 March.
Laurence Herszberg, founder and general director of Series Mania, said: “Series Mania Forum is a major professional event for European and international decision-makers. It is also a key rendezvous in the industry’s international agenda.
“At their request, the Series Mania Forum team had to provide continuity solutions, the mere cancellation of all pitching sessions being too detrimental to creation and industry. As such, we are delighted to provide the Series Mania Digital Forum. In the face of adversity, we had to adapt in order to offer industry professionals a prime follow-up of activity, essential to a future recovery that we all hope for.”
