Netflix to launch tragic K-drama Hymn of Death
Netflix is set to launch new K-drama Hymn of Death across Asia and English-speaking territories this December.
Hymn of Death is a three-part series tells the story of Korea’s first soprano Yun Sim-deok and her playwright boyfriend Kim Woo-jin. The popular story has been adapted in Asia in various formats throughout the years, including films, plays, and musicals.
The title will be directed by Park Soo-jin (The Doctors) and written by Cho Soo-jin.
The tragic love story will be made available on the platform in Korea one hour after its broadcast debut in the country, on 27 November, 3 December and 4 December.
It will be available across Asia and English-speaking territories from 14 December and all other territories from 28 December.
Since Netflix stated that it would commit to Korean originals in 2016, it has brought in a range of programming from the territory including stand-up, sitcoms, dramas and a variety show.
