Twofour to produce ITV4 action show

ITV4 has commissioned Twofour to produce Take The Tower, which draws inspiration from classic Hollywood action movies to create a challenge show.

The host, Hollywood action hero Dolph Lundgren (pictured) of Rocky, Universal Soldier and The Expendables blockbusters as well as upcoming films Aquaman and Creed 2, will challenge some of the toughest members of the public to a combination of physical challenges and quiz questions.

Contestants who manage to make their way to the top of the ‘tower’ will whisk their mates off on holiday.

This adrenaline packed series will tap into classic movie tropes. It’s high stakes with cash prizes up for grabs and the fear of one of the team being ‘toppled off the tower’.

The show was commissioned by Amanda Stavri, commissioning editor for comedy and entertainment at ITV, and will be executive produced by Melanie Leach, Andrew Mackenzie and Rachel Watson.

Air date is yet to be confirmed. The show will be represented internationally by Twofour Rights.

Melanie Leach, Chief Executive, Twofour, said: “This is probably the most bonkers idea we’ve had the good fortune to make. But in the words of the A Team, it’s so crazy, it just might work.”
