Ugly Betty star America Ferrera (pictured) has launched a yet-to-be-named production company with executive producer Teri Weinberg.
The duo have signed a first look deal with Universal TV and set up a legal drama under the new pact.
The drama is written by former Revenge showrunner Sunil Nayar. It centres around Amrita Kaur, a Sikh woman and law student working at a renegade student-law firm.
Nayar will executive produce with Ferrera and Weinberg as well as Drew Brown. Valarie Kaur will work as co-executive producer.
Tafari Lumumba and Sharat Raju will join as supervising producers.
Ferrera and Weinberg formally worked together on the Golden Globe-winning show Ugly Betty.
