Mehmed the Conquerer
Turkey’s Kanal D is set to bring a period drama, Mehmed the Conquerer, to MIPCOM 2017.
Kanal D International will be selling the drama, which it claims is the company’s biggest budget series to date.
The story of Mehmed, the Sultan that conquered Constantinople, will portray a strategist who aimed to reign over lands and oceans in the East and West and who fulfilled his aim to overcome the last empire of Rome.
Two yearsafter he ascended to the throne, Mehmed conquered Constantinople in only 53 days.
Kanal D says the show will bring in a new era of Turkish drama, with high audiovisual quality and top actor Kenan İmirzalıoğlu. This show arrives after Kanal D launched premium drama Wounded Love.
Kanal D’s compatriot Global Agency is set to introduce its format In and Out by offering MIPCOM attendee a potential €10,000 (US$12,000) for participating during the event between 16-18 October.
Delegates who play the app-based game show by the entrance of the Riviera Hall can win the cash. The game will offer a score at the end of each session and the contestant with the highest score of three days will be awarded the cash prize.
The winning ceremony will be held in the game area at 6pm on the October 18.
