A+E takes Jeremy Renner, Dominic Minghella to MIPTV
Hollywood action star Jeremy Renner and producer Dominic Minghella will attend MIPTV to promote A+E Networks drama Knightfall.
They will be in town along with key cast members Tom Cullen (Downton Abbey), Simon Merrells (Spartacus), Olivia Ross (War and Peace) and Sabrina Bartlett (Poldark), and fellow exec producers Don Handfield and Richard Rayner.
Leading into the market, A+E Networks International has sold the series to SBS Two in Australia, HBO and Cinemax in Central Europe, Poland, Spain and Andorra, iQiyi and BesTV in China, Sirkus in Iceland, YES in Israel, FilmBox Premium in Central and Eastern Europe and iFlix in Southeast Asia.
In the US, Canada, Latin America and Southeast Asia it goes out on commissioning broadcaster History, which is part of the A+E stable.
Knightfall follows the inner workings of the Knights Templar, who were the most powerful and wealthy military order of the Middle Ages and allegedly protected the Holy Grail.
The show comes from A+E Studios in association with Renner’s firm, The Combine, and Midnight Radio.
Academy Award-nominated Renner, best known for blockbusters such as The Avengers and Captain America: Civil War, is an executive producer, while Minghella, brother of the late director Anthony Minghella, is best know for creating ITV drama Doc Martin. He is showrunner on Knightfall.
