Cannes to get new Big Mayor
Upcoming reality series Small Town, Big Mayor will roll out at MIPTV after distributor Portfolio Entertainment snagged the international rights.
The US cable series is set in D’Lo, Mississippi, a small town has a population of just 456 souls, and follows events after a new mayor, John Henry Berry, comes in with plans to put it on the map.
The 10x30mins show will go out on UP TV this summer.
It is produced by American Chainsaws Entertainment, and Captain Al’s Big Big Pictures.
“Small Town, Big Mayor is a perfect antidote for troubling times,” said Joy Rosen, CEO and cofounder, Portfolio.
“Community, diversity and triumph of the human spirit, loom large here and Mayor John Henry Berry has all the makings of a reality superstar.”
Hal Rosenberg, executive VP, content distribution and marketing, UP, added: “There’s no shortage of heart and humour in this comedic series, and we look forward to sharing these stories with the world.”
