Breton’s Federation adds distribution exec
France-based producer and distributor Federation Entertainment has hired Leyla Formoso to head up its drama sales efforts in Latin America.
The French-Venezuelan sales exec will be in situ ahead of the MIPCancun, which starts tomorrow, and be shopping Federation’s dramas to local buyers.
The Federation slate includes Canal+ series The Bureau, Netflix French original Marseille, Scandi drama Bordertown and recent acquisition Premonitions.
Formoso will report to Federation’s head of international Jean-Michel Ciszewski who will also be in Mexico for the Reed Midem-organised MIPCancun and was previously covering Lat Am.
The new recruit comes from a four-year stint working on a project for Venezuela’s Ministry of Culture, where she was handling programming sales for the country’s pubcaster channels.
She will only cover drama sales, with Monica Levy continuing to handle worldwide distribution of the Federation Kids & Family slate.
Prior to that she was at Gaumont (then known as Alphanim), Red Arrow International (then known as SevenOne International), and Nelvana.
“Federation has already reached a number of important milestones in terms of growth since the company launched just two years ago, and we are confident Leyla’s specialist knowledge of the Latin American markets will further consolidate our activities within the region as we continue to extend our reach,” said Ciszewski.
Veteran French producer and exec Pascal Breton formed Federation in 2014.
