Portfolio reveals Best in the World Japan
Canadian sales house Portfolio Entertainment has acquired a pair of Japenese-themed lifestyle and travel titles from Malaysia’s Primeworks Distribution.
Best in the World Japan (pictured, 10x30mins) and Welcome to the Railworld Japan (10x30mins) comprise part of the distributor’s MIPCOM slate. The former looks at the culinary delights of the Asian country through a comic lens, with the latter seeing Henry Golding exploring the territory by train.
The shows will be joined on the slate by 12x13mins preschool series Mack & Moxy, which features celebrity guests such as Hank Azaria and Josh Duhamel; shortform series So Smart!, an animated show for babies and toddlers; and Car Stories, which comes from Canada’s Joe Media and tells high octane tales about prized classic cars.
“Portfolio Entertainment is aggressively pursuing acquisitions across all genres and is continuing to forge international partnerships with talented content creators,” said Jonathan Abraham, director of international sales and acquisitions, Portfolio.
Portfolio hired Abraham from toyco Zuru before MIPTV this year after expanding into factual programming.
