Gran Plan revealed in Canada
Canadian speciality net Canal Vie has ordered a local version of Israeli-created comic entertainment series The Gran Plan after a deal with distributor Armoza Formats.
Zone3 will produce the 13-episode Canadian version, which will include a cast of local personalities and is set to debut in March 2016 on the Bell Media-owned network.
Gran Plan, originally from Artza Productions and for Channel 10 in Israel, sees three strong-willed grandmothers help young adults with everything from dating for their careers.
“The Canal Vie team fell in love with the original series,” said the network’s director of original productions and programming, Chantal Fortier. “We were seduced by the idea of an older generation passing down their wisdom and we are confident that the show will appeal to our audience.”
Armoza has previously sold it into Finland, Russia, Germany, Ukraine and Greece among other territories.
