Peace Point making a noise with Lauda doc
Toronto-based distributor Peace Point Rights is launching a new doc about racing driver Niki Lauda at MIPCOM.
Lauda: The Untold Story tells the story of the driver’s recovery from an horrific 1976 crash that almost cost him his life. There is footage of Lauda and insight from the man himself as well as other iconic racing drivers.
Peace Point is selling the show in 1x60mins and 2x30mins formats.
Other motoring-flavoured offerings for the market include car restoration series Legendary Motorcar and motoring magazine series Dream Car Garage.
The distributor’s other new shows for the market include space exploration doc In Space 2: Next in Space, looking at the findings gleaned by the Rosetta landing craft after it landed on a comet 500 million kilometres from Earth.
It also has French-language cooking series A Dish a Day, in which Belgian Chef Jeroen Meus creates meals in minutes against the clock and to a specific budget. There are two seasons of the show, with the first running to 250x10mins and the second 250x12mins.
Peace Point said it will also be previewing the upcoming English-language version of the show.
Also in the cooking category, there is a new 20x30mins season of Bake with Anna Olson (pictured).
The MIPCOM slate is rounded off by pop-science series Superbodies, which uses CGI to examine human athleticism.
