PornHub aims to become ‘Netflix of porn’

Adult entertainment site PornHub has launched a subscription video-on-demand offering in an effort to beat off competition and establish itself as the ‘Netflix of porn’.

PornHub Premium will cost US$9.99 per month and will offer ad-free, full-length HD adult content in 1080p resolution, as well as faster video playback.

“Users will benefit from enhanced access to all of the content they already enjoy on Pornhub.com – with improved streaming quality – as well as over 100,000 full-length premium exclusive scenes at the touch of a finger or click of the mouse,” said PornHub vice-president Corey Price.

“We’re looking to take the crown as the ‘Netflix of porn’ and with the colossal amount of content we’ll be providing – and adding tonnes more daily – we’re confident our fan base will totally embrace this product and reinforce our position as the top provider of on-demand adult video.”

PornHub Premium will be available on mobile, tablet, and desktop to offer “maximum comfort in consumption,” according to the company, with dedicated Android and Roku companion apps currently in the works.

PornHub said it also plans to roll out virtual reality integration at the beginning of 2016.

The firm said that the billing process for PornHub Premium will be “secure and discreet” and that customers can cancel at any time.
