CBS Studios International has acquired format rights to Alpine Labs’ show The Game Plane.
The show claims to be the first game show to be filmed entirely on real, regularly scheduled commercial airline flights.
It debuted in US syndication last September and has gone to a second season, which launches later this year.
“The Game Plane is a terrific show with a unique twist, making it the perfect format for broadcasters looking to give audiences an exclusive game show experience,” said Paul Gilbert, senior VP, international formats, CBSSI.
“We look forward to working with CBS Studios International on The Game Plane, which has already demonstrated its success as a format in US syndication,” said Kevin Abrams, CEO, Alpine Labs and the show’s creator.
Trifecta Entertainment and Media distributes the show in the US and Canada. CBS’s international arm has sales rights elsewhere.
