Prodcos see Upside of MIPTV sales
A trio of European producers have signed distribution agreement with Havas Productions-owned sales house Upside Distribution.
The first deal sees Upside selling almost 100 filmed contemporary jazz concerts from Oleo Films’ catalogue, while the second sees German indie doc film producer Broadview TV catalogue added to the slate. This includes upcoming biographies of Angela Merkel and Frank Sinatra.
Finally, M6 Group-owned C Productions has sold sales rights to its entire catalogue to Upside, which will launch all three companies’ shows at MIPTV.
Meanwhile, Upside will launch three feature-length docs in Cannes. Farewell My Teacher, from B2 Films, will be presold ahead of its release via Disney in France in the autumn.
Suspended in Time comes from La Vingt-Cinquième Heure, and follows a community of contemplative religious sisters in Bonneval Abbey, and Syria: Our Terrible Country, from Bidayyat, looks at the conflict in the Middle Eastern country.
Upside is also preselling Canal+ doc Coach, a new Patrick Spica Productions historical doc for RMC Découverte, YN Productions’ Wild Alps and Révolution R’s The Seventh Contintent.
An Upside doc about the International Space Station, Ø Gravity, opens MIPDoc later this month, with director and coproducer Jürgen Hansen and German astronaut Alexander Gers in attendance.
