ITV Studios to take MIPTV to 10,000 BC

ITV Studios Global Entertainment will launch reality format 10,000 BC at MIPTV next month.

The show has just been re-commisioned by Viacom’s Channel 5 in the UK. It was the first co-commission between the free-to-air channel and Viacom’s pay TV net MTV UK, which also shows sin-off series 10,000 BC: Meet the Stoners.

In the show, twenty men and women from different walks of life give up their possessions, technology, their home and creature comforts to live in the wilderness as a Stone Age community.

10,000 BC is produced by Group M Entertainment and ITV-backed prodco The Garden. It headlines ITV Studios formats slate for the market, which also includes behind the scenes celebrity reality show Seven Days With…, which was created by ITV’s Shiver for ITV UK pay TV channel ITVBe.

There is also bargain hunting competition format Bargain Battle, which comes from ITV Studios Nordic, which made it for Bonnier channel Ava.

Other shows in the fourteen-strong formats slate for MIPTV include parenting show My Child, your Child, boy band format Go Mad In… and comedy quiz Money Where Your Mouth Is.
