IDW and eOne declare V-Wars deal
IDW Entertainment and Entertainment One Television are moving ahead with V-Wars, a TV adaptation of the Jonathan Maberry comic book.
The series will follow the first ‘Vampire War’. It will be the first show to come out of the first-look copro deal recently agreed between IDW and eOne.
No broadcaster is currently attached, but the production partners have recruited Tim Schlattmann (Smallville) to write the pilot and exec produce the series.
“This is a story that takes everything the audience thinks they know about vampires and throws it out the window,” said Schlattman. “They’re not the undead. They’re us.”
“V-Wars is a head-on collision of real-world science, terrorism, special forces action, ethics, politics and an exploration of what defines us as human,” added Maberry.
Comic book publisher IDW created a new TV division last year. It brought on industry veteran and former Sonar, Starz and DIC executive David Ozer (pictured) to run the new IDW Entertainment unit.
