MIPTV 2014: Tough Trains scheduled for Cannes

London-based Pilot Productions is launching a series about the world’s most hard-core train journeys at MIPTV next month.

Tough Trains, which has already sold to Travel Channel International and Voyage in France, profiles journeys such as the ride from the East to West coasts of Africa and the ‘Dead Train’ from the reputed drug trafficking centre of Corumba, Brazil to the frontier town of Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Pilot, which has a base in LA, is also launching travel doc series Great Railway Journeys of Europe. The prodco is best known for Global Trekker, which has been in continuous production for channels such as PBS in the US, Discovery Networks International and France 5 since 1994.
